The Factcheckhub is a non-partisan platform that aims to combat misinformation and disinformation about various topics, including COVID-19, elections, health, and governance. They monitor the factual accuracy of statements made by major political and business figures in Africa and use the best practices of journalism and technology to increase public knowledge and understanding of public issues.

The goal of the organisation is to raise awareness about public issues by distributing balanced and well-researched reports, Additionally, the goal is to promote a culture of fact-checking among the general public by increasing knowledge and creating an online platform that provides access to accurate information, to aid the public in making informed decisions and holding the government accountable.

The FactCheckHub is funded by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (The ICIR).

DUBAWA

 Dubwa is Nigeria’s first indigenous independent verification and fact-checking project, initiated by the Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism (PTCIJ) and supported by influential newsrooms and civic organisations in the Nigeria to help amplify the culture of truth in public discourse, public policy, and journalistic practice.”

The DUBAWA project is primarily backed by the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) and receives support through direct funding and collaboration with other projects of the Centre. The MacArthur Foundation is also a key supporter of DUBAWA, with the goal of strengthening investigative and data-driven journalism in Nigeria to promote accountability.

Africa Check is a non-profit organization set up in 2012 to promote accuracy in public debate and the media in Africa. Their holistic approach to fact-checking includes publishing reports and factsheets, media literacy, running awards and training journalists

THE INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR INVESTIGATIVE REPORTING (ICIR)

THE WOLE SOYINKA CENTRE FOR INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM (WSCIJ)

The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) is a non-profit organization that uses investigative journalism to expose corruption, regulatory failures, and human rights abuses. The organization, which started in 2005 as the Wole Soyinka Investigative Reporting Award, changed its name in 2008 to reflect a broader focus on promoting the values of investigative journalism in Nigeria.
