A Facebook account Igbo times Magazine posted on their Facebook page the headline “Tinubu has allegedly ordered a halt in food supply to South East from the North Amid hardship, says Igbos Didn’t vote for me

The post claims that the president of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu(GCFR) has given instructions to stop the supply of food to the South-eastern part of Nigeria because they did not vote for him during the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.

This post was made on May 10, 2024, by the Facebook user Igbo times Magazine, the post has 1 share and one comment as at the time of making this verification. The post was also shared on their website.

Reading through the post, the writer directs its readers to read the full details of the story on their website, but when the link is clicked it leads to a dead end.

Searching for the headline directly on the website www.igbotimesmagazine.monster, one can see different pop-up links re-directing you to different adverts and betting sites, the website is not easy to navigate due to the excessive advert links; this shows that the website is not a reliable source of information.

The motive of the poster is to generate traffic because when you search other posts made by the user on their Facebook page, one can see that the poster loves sensationalism.

Also the page owner appears to be after followership which is later sold.

In one of the other posts on the page, there is an advert for a Facebook page up for sale.

This shows that the source of this post is unreliable, no other reliable news outlet is carrying this claim as controversial as it is.

Therefore the verdict of this claim is false.
