Recently, a promotional advert showed up on Facebook, luring young Nigerians to sign up for a Federal Government’s rare opportunity opened for youths.

It was a poster advert that has on it the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Nigeria Youth Investment Fund, NYIF, as seen in the link above.

It originated from an unknown source.

A click on the apply button leads anyone to another page flooded with all kinds of advertisement other than the expected application form promoted.

The promotion has over 700 comments and seven shares. Also, it has over 1,200 likes.

Verification

We decided to verify the authenticity of this promotion, by checking social media handles of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.

The ministry’s X handle revealed a step by the National Orientation Agency NOA to sensitise the public on the Investment scheme with the appropriate link as shown below.

This proved that the link shared on Facebook with the name, immigration Point was a fake link.

The intention of the source is just to use it as a bait to lure unsuspected viewers to a page flooded with different adverts targeted at generating revenue.

The verified site and link to the NYIF is in the domain of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development and indicated here
