On May 19, 2024, an advertisement in the name of the Federal Ministry of Health was posted on the Facebook by applyjunkie.com.
It reads: “There are current openings for Nigerians interested here. Apply if you are eligible and interested”.
This sparked some curiosity as many people were already indicating interest.
Therefore, there was the need to factcheck this advertisement.
We discovered, on its official Twitter account that the official name of the Federal Ministry of Health has alongside with it Social Welfare .So it is Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, whereas, the Facebook post read “Federal Ministry of Health Recruitment”.
A click on the ‘Apply ‘ column however led to a page where make believe job recruitment portals of other organizations were trickily lined up for vulnerable job seekers.
The name of the sender could not be established.
How true is the job recruitment claim?
Findings from the official X account of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare revealed that the post was fake.
Indeed, the ministry in a press release debunked the claim, saying the acclaimed recruitment exercise is not from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare as advertised.
