A post asking those in search of a job to go and register at the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, offices nationwide is currently in circulation on social media platforms.
The post includes a long list of different telephone numbers of supposed NDE offices nationwide manning the centres it directed interested members of the public to visit.
One of the platforms where our reporter found the post revealed that it has been forwarded many times, an indication that many people may have jumped on it and shared, especially with the rate of unemployment in Nigeria.

But is this from the NDE?
I put a call through to some of these numbers to verify.
While some numbers were switched off, others were forwarded. Also, there were others that reported a non-existence response.
However, someone responded to one of the calls and debunked the claim saying there was nothing of such.
The woman by the name Mrs.FO Awokoya expressed displeasure over a series of calls she had received regarding the post.
“People have been disturbing me for more than two weeks now and I? have told them nothing of such but they didn’t believe me. This is not the Federal Secretariat. They are scammers.”
Upon further investigation, the National Directorate of Employment on its official X handle also dissociated itself from the post and advised the public to disregard it.
This is an indication that the post is fake and taking advantage of peoples’ need, especially those in search of jobs, to scam them just as Mrs. Awokoya said.
Nigerians are again warned to guard against falling victims of scrupulous schemes and posts.
