#OsunDecides2026: Confirmed Issues And Reports From Polling Units

On August 15, 2026, residents of Osun State trooped out to cast their vote in a decisive governorship election that will usher in another 4 years administration.

In the state, there are 30 local government areas, 332 wards, 3,763 polling units, and 2,339,233 registered voters for the governorship election.

Also, a total of 14 political parties were cleared and shortlisted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to participate in the race.

As the process progresses from stage to stage, different reports come in from different polling units and we have documented a few in this article.

In the early hours of the process, observers at different locations reported the under-listed cases. They have not been independently verified by us since there are submissions from different indigenes or Osun State.

Intricate Issues

There have been cases of intimidation for voters that are not members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a ward in Idi Ada, while BVAS failed to function properly at the commencement of voting at the Boripe Ward. It was difficult for the biometrics of seniors to be captured.

Furthermore, Orisumbare Unit 1 was rowdy and showed signs of lack of organisation, even as electoral officials were present.

In Owode Ede Unit 16, just a BVAS machine was functional.
