A recent website post on sftas.org.ng claims that the Nigerian Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) is conducting recruitment for 2025. According to the post, applications are open online at www.fedcivilservice.gov.ng until Monday, 3rd March 2025, with 70 vacancies available across various cadres.
It further advises applicants to visit the portal, complete the application form, and upload the necessary documents while warning against multiple applications.
The post also emphasises that the recruitment process is free of charge, urging applicants to beware of scammers requesting payment.
This content was increasingly getting more attention, as many Nigerians are unemployed.
As a result, HaltFake decided to fact-check this claim. At the end of that check it found it to be false.
Official Clarification from the Federal Government
To verify the authenticity of the recruitment claim, we checked the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation’s official website (fmino.gov.ng). The Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, Prof. Tunji Olaopa, has already issued a disclaimer regarding the circulating recruitment information.
In the statement, the FCSC Chairman categorically denied any ongoing recruitment, stating:
“The attention of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has been drawn to information making the rounds on various media platforms about advertised vacancies and recruitments in the Commission.
The Commission unequivocally declares that the information containing the Commission’s website and the name of the Director (Recruitment and Appointment) did not emanate from the Commission. It is fictitious and should be disregarded…”
Conclusion
Based on this official statement, the claim that the Federal Civil Service Commission is recruiting for 2025 is false.
Job seekers should remain vigilant against fraudulent recruitment announcements and rely on verified government sources for accurate information.
