The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has dismissed rumours that the Ekiti State REC, Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, has been transferred.
According to an official of the electoral body, the news is fake.
A journalist had reached out to the INEC, highlighting the rumour of the transfer of Dr. Omoseyindemi, but an official of the commission confirmed to HaltFake that “Dr Bunmi Omoseyindemi is the REC conducting the Ekiti 2026 Governorship Election and that he has supporting National Commissioners and supporting RECs around to assist him in the supervision of various local governments”.
Earlier yesterday, Dr. Omoseyindemi assured voters of a transparent, credible, and inclusive governorship election on June 20.
Disregard any claim that the REC has been transferred.
